Nina Dobrev's Plunging Zuhair Murad Gown Comes With Dangerously High Slit

Nina Dobrevmade a striking appearance at The King’s Trust 5th Annual Gala, delivering a red carpet moment that felt both refined and undeniably bold. The actress, known for her polished yet modern approach to eveningwear, once again proved she understands the balance between classic glamour and contemporary edge. Without revealing too much at first glance, her look carried a quiet intensity, one that unfolded gradually the longer viewers looked.

Nina Dobrev attends King’s Trust Gala in plunging Zuhair Murad gown with ridiculously high slit

For the evening, Nina Dobrev chose a deep emerald gown fromZuhair Murad’s Fall/Winter 2025Couture collection — a designer synonymous with intricate craftsmanship and high-quality silhouettes. The piece immediately stood out for its rich, jewel-toned hue, which contrasted beautifully against the red carpet backdrop, making her presence impossible to miss.

As the full look came into focus, the gown revealed its dramatic construction. A plunging sweetheart neckline framed the upper silhouette, adding a touch of sensuality while still maintaining elegance. The bodice featured delicate ruching that enhanced the shape. It also cinched at the waist before flowing into a voluminous skirt. The real statement, however, came from the dangerously high slit, which moved sharply through the fabric. This introduced movement and a bold edge to an otherwise classic silhouette.

The gown’s fluid drape and subtle shine gave it a luxurious finish, allowing it to catch the light with every step. Dobrev kept the styling minimal and intentional, letting the dress take center stage. She paired the look with strappy silver grey heels and delicate diamond drop earrings, adding just enough sparkle without overwhelming the outfit.

Her beauty look followed the same approach. She wore her hair sleek, straight, and parted down the middle, creating a clean frame for her face. Soft, neutral makeup with defined eyes and a subtle glow completed the look. With this appearance, Dobrev delivered a masterclass in modern red carpet dressing.

FCC orders Disney to file for early license renewal after Kimmel clash

Kimmel-Trump clash continues as FCC launches early review of ABC's broadcast licenses 02:06

CBS News CBS News

The Federal Communications Commission has directed Walt Disney Co. to file early license renewal applications for its ABC television stations, citing an ongoing investigation, a day after President Trump called on the company tofire comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The FCC said in its order that it is investigating ABC stations for "possible violations" of the Communications Act of 1934 and the agency's prohibition on unlawful discrimination. An FCC official told CBS News that the order is related to the agency's investigation into Disney's diversity, equity and inclusion practices, which the official said has been ongoing since March 2025.

In a statement to CBS News, Disney said it has received the FCC's order for an accelerated review of its ABC-owned television stations.

"ABC and its stations have a long record of operating in full compliance with FCC rules and serving their local communities with trusted news, emergency information, and public‑interest programming," a Disney spokesperson said. "We are confident that the record demonstrates our continued qualifications as licensees under the Communications Act and the First Amendment and are prepared to show that through the appropriate legal channels."

The ABC licenses were originally scheduled for renewal between 2028 and 2031. The companyownseight TV stations, including WABC-TV in New York and KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

Trump calls for Kimmel firing

The FCC order comes after President Trump and Melania Trump urged ABC tofire Kimmelafter he made a joke during his April 23 show in which he described the first lady as having "the glow of an expectant widow." In the program, Kimmel pretended to deliver a comedy routine at the upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner. His program aired two days before the event.

In the aftermath of the dinner, in which an alleged gunman shot aSecret Service agentat the Washington, D.C., ballroom where the Trumps had gathered, the first lady said that ABC should "take a stand" against Kimmel.

"Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, who is in no way funny as attested to by his terrible Television Ratings, made a statement on his Show that is really shocking," Mr. Trumpwrotein an April 27 post on social media. "I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel's despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale."

He added, "Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC."

Kimmel defended his joke during hisMonday night monologue, describing the routine as centering on the Trumps' 23-year age difference. The routine was "a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination. And they know that," Kimmel said.

Trump, who turns 80 in June, is the oldest U.S. president to take office. His wife, a former model who was born in Slovenia, is 56.

Kimmel also defended his First Amendment rights, saying, "Donald Trump is allowed to say whatever he wants to say, as are you and as am I, as are all of us, because under the First Amendment, we have as Americans the right to free speech."

Festering feud

The issue marks the second clash between the FCC and Disney within the last year, with ABC preempting "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in September after criticism of comments Kimmel made on his late-night TV show followingthe shooting deathof conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

At the time, FCC Chairman Brendan Carrreferred toKimmel's comments as "some of the sickest conduct possible," and said there was a "path forward for suspension over this."

The FCC doesn't have the authority to cancel broadcasters' licenses "because of their perceived political views," Jameel Jaffer, executive director at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, said in an email to CBS News.

Josh Hart injury: Knicks forward bothered by a possible back injury

NEW YORK — TheNew York Knicksare one win away from the conference semifinals, but there might be an injury concern to watch.

USA TODAY Sports

Forward Josh Hart, 28, seemingly bothered by a possible back injury, left New York’s126-97Game 5 victoryover theAtlanta Hawkson Tuesday, April 28 in the fourth quarter and did not return to the bench.

After the game, Knicks coach Mike Brown did not have any information on Hart’s status, and a team public relations spokesperson indicated that the medical staff had not provided any information about a possible injury.

Hart appeared to suffer a back injury in the first half of Tuesday’s contest, though he remained in the game. Hart was officially subbed out with 6:27 left in the game, and he went through the tunnel and didn’t emerge for the rest of the game. The substitution might have been more precautionary, however, as the Knicks were up by 24 points when Hart left the game.

Known for his grit, physical play and toughness, Hart has often played through minor issues, and he has become a key figure in New York’s title hopes. Throughout this series, he has served as a versatile defensive wing, alternating his assignments from game-to-game.

Even if Hart is forced to miss some time, though, the Knicks still have excellent defensive wings in OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges. In fact, Brown has deployed Hart in a way that allows the Knicks to switch all pick-and-rolls, giving New York excellent matchup versatility on defense.

In 30:14 on the court Tuesday night, Hart scored 9 points on 3-of-8 shooting, adding 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Game 6 is scheduled forThursday, April 30in Atlanta, with the Knicks holding a 3-2 series lead. The Knicks are expected to issue their first injury report Wednesday, April 29, during the evening.

NFL Draft Day 3: Jermod McCoy to Raiders, Jets trade up for Cade Klubnik

The third and final day of the 2026 NFL Draft began with a name many thought would go in the first round.

Field Level Media

Instead, Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy went No. 101 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders, as the opening pick of the fourth round on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

The Buffalo Bills owned the No. 101 selection entering the day, while the Raiders sat at No. 102. Las Vegas traded a 2027 seventh-rounder to Buffalo to move up one spot and secure McCoy.

Rated the 16th overall prospect in the draft class by Scouts Inc., McCoy's fall was attributed to a health concern. McCoy tore his ACL and missed the 2025 college season, but while the ACL has healed, a degenerative cartilage issue was discovered in his right knee.

"All of my doctors that did my surgery told me (that) I'm good," McCoy said, per ESPN. "But if there's something that (the Raiders) want me to do for the longevity of my career, I'm willing to do that because I feel like they have my best interest."

McCoy had four interceptions and nine pass breakups for Tennessee in 2024 after one year at Oregon State.

Two days after the Raiders selected Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick, they continued to make waves Saturday by sending former top-10 pick Tyree Wilson to the New Orleans Saints in order to trade up from No. 219 overall to No. 150 in the fifth round.

Wilson, the seventh overall pick in 2023, amassed 12 sacks in three seasons as a Raiders defensive end. The Raiders attempted to trade star pass rusher Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens earlier this offseason, but Baltimore backed out due to a failed physical as Crosby recovers from knee surgery.

At No. 150, the Raiders drafted safety Dalton Johnson from Arizona.

The quarterback class continued to prove thin, as just one signal-caller was selected in the fourth round and one went in the fifth.

The New York Jets moved up in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals to select Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik at No. 110 overall. The Bengals received the 128th overall pick in the trade, while sending New York the 199th pick in exchange for No. 140.

Klubnik, once seen as a top college quarterback, never quite realized his potential in three-plus seasons as Clemson's starter. The 6-foot-2 prospect threw for 2,943 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions for the Tigers in 2025.

The Jets have again revamped their quarterback room but waited till the fourth round to take a flier on an incoming rookie, having opted for pass rusher David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick. Klubnik joins a QB room featuring Geno Smith, Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe.

"I woke up this morning hoping the Jets were going to pick me," Klubnik told reporters after the pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles used the 178th overall pick on North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton, a former FCS national champion who'll slot in on the depth chart behind Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee and veteran Andy Dalton.

While just six quarterbacks were drafted through five rounds, a more popular position was tight end. Seventeen were taken in Rounds 1-5, more than the 16 total drafted in 2025.

Mississippi State tight end Seydou Traore, originally from London, went to the Miami Dolphins at No. 180, the penultimate pick of the fifth round. Though not announced as part of the prospect "green room" Traore appeared on stage in Pittsburgh and was celebrated by commissioner Roger Goodell, an unusual moment for Day 3 of the draft.

The Cleveland Browns kicked off the sixth round by selecting Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green with the first pick. Green will join Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel on a crowded Cleveland depth chart.

The sixth round saw the first punter and first kicker taken. Michigan State punter Ryan Eckley went to the Baltimore Ravens at No. 211, and for the final pick of the sixth round, the Green Bay Packers selected Florida kicker Trey Smack.

Three teams with established starters picked up quarterbacks in the seventh round: Rutgers' Athan Kaliakmanis to the Washington Commanders (223), Texas Tech's Behren Morton to the New England Patriots (234) and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier to the Kansas City Chiefs (249).

Nussmeier was the third-highest rated quarterback by Scouts Inc. but was the 10th and final QB taken in the draft. He joins newly acquired Justin Fields and holdover Chris Oladokun as backup options in Kansas City as Patrick Mahomes recovers from ACL and LCL surgery.

The seventh-to-final pick of the day was noteworthy because the player selected has never played football before. The Philadelphia Eagles took Nigerian defensive line prospect Uar Bernard at No. 251.

A 6-foot-4, 306-pound athlete who turned heads at the scouting combine, Bernard is part of the NFL's International Player Pathway program, which also produced current Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata, originally a rugby player from Australia.

Red Murdock, a linebacker from Buffalo, became the highly anticipated "Mr. Irrelevant" selection when the Denver Broncos chose him with the 257th and final pick in the draft. In 42 games across three-plus college seasons, Murdock had 364 tackles (39.5 for loss), nine sacks and an NCAA record 17 forced fumbles -- one more than the previous record-holder and fellow Buffalo alum, Khalil Mack.

“You don’t, you drink,” he jokes about how he prepared for the evening. “I'm gonna have to start drinking soon.”

TheJay Kellystar also shared an insight into how his children — twins Ella and Alexander, 8 — have been watching his movies as he reflected on his career.

Revealing that he doesn’t tend to watch his films now he’s older because it’s “hard” to see how he looked in his younger years, George said that he’s made an exception for 2009’sFantastic Mr. Fox.

"It's a weird thing. As you get older, it's hard to watch movies when you were younger because you're like, holy s---, that doesn't even look like me anymore," he tells PEOPLE. "You know, I'm watching because I've got 8 year olds, I'm watchingFantastic Mr. Fox, which is a little easier because it's not really me, it's just my boys. And that's kind of fun because the kids are slowly figuring out what I do for a living."

"Halloween's a big holiday. My son went as Batman. He hadn't seenBatmanyet," Clooney told the outlet of his 1997 filmBatman & Robin. "I always say to him, 'You know I was Batman.' He's always like, 'No.'"

"I don't know that he knew how profound it was when he said I wasn't Batman. A couple of weeks ago, I finally showed it to him," he continued. "It wasn't great for grown-ups, but it's great for 8-year-olds, so he loved it."

T-wolves beat Nuggets, lose Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo to injuries

Ayo Dosunmu came off the bench to score a career-high 43 points on 13-for-17 shooting, and the short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away for a 112-96 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of their Western Conference quarterfinals series on Saturday night in Minneapolis.

The victory, which gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, came at a cost to the Timberwolves, who lost two starters due to injury.

Anthony Edwards, a four-time All-Star and the team's top scorer, left in the second quarter and did not return because of a left knee injury. Edwards leaped to try to block a shot and landed awkwardly on his left leg, and he quickly dropped to the court and clutched his knee.

Team officials helped Edwards to his feet and he placed his arms around their shoulders. He put little weight on his left leg as he hobbled toward the locker room.

Earlier in the first half, Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo headed toward the locker room after he injured his right leg on a non-contact play. DiVincenzo planted his foot to pursue a loose ball and fell to the hardwood, and he grabbed the back of his right leg in pain.

Early reports indicated that DiVincenzo might have ruptured his Achilles tendon on the play.

Naz Reid added 17 points off the bench for Minnesota. Julius Randle finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Rudy Gobert grabbed a game-high-tying 15 rebounds to go along with four points.

Jamal Murray scored 30 points on 10-for-25 shooting to lead Denver. Nikola Jokic finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists. However, he shot 8-for-22 from the field and missed all three of his 3-point attempts.

The series returns to Denver for Game 5 on Monday night.

Dosunmu took over in his teammates' absence. He helped Minnesota outscore Denver 62-42 in the second half to take a commanding lead in the series.

The Nuggets led 76-74 late in the third quarter before Dosunmu helped Minnesota take charge. He made a pair of free throws as Minnesota finished the quarter on an 8-2 run to grab an 82-78 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Dosunmu continued to assert himself. He hit a driving layup and a pull-up bank shot to increase the Timberwolves' lead to 95-82 with 7:53 to go.

Denver struggled to keep pace the rest of the way, and Jokic took exception to a layup by Jaden McDaniels with 2.1 seconds left. Jokic and Randle were ejected in the closing seconds after players from both teams shoved one another near the sidelines.

Michael Jackson accusers detail child sex abuse claims

A group of siblings who filed suit againstMichael Jackson's estate onallegations of child sex traffickingare sharing new details of their abuse claims against the late pop icon.

USA TODAY

In an interview withThe New York Timespublished April 24, Edward, Dominic and Aldo Cascio, along with sister Marie-Nicole Porte, opened up about the alleged sexual abuse they suffered as children amid their close relationship with Jackson. The Cascios reportedly befriended the singer after their father, Manhattan hotel manager Dominic Cascio Sr., met Jackson in the 1980s.

According to the siblings'February lawsuit, filed in California federal court, Jackson's employees facilitated and concealed his alleged abuse and pressured the Cascios to sign an agreement that prevents them "from talking about the years of abuse they endured" under false pretenses.

In addition to child sex trafficking, the complaint alleges negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and fraud. It seeks monetary compensation as well as a determination that the signed agreement can be voided.

Revisiting Michael Jackson's life and legacy in photos

The Cascios, who were often referred to as the singer's "second family," previously denied allegations of Jackson's sexual misconduct, including in a2010 interviewwithOprah Winfrey.

Now they say that was a lie. "We were brainwashed, we were groomed," Eddie Cascio told The New York Times. He says he and his siblings were "taught" by Jackson to defend him against abuse allegations.

Marty Singer, an attorney for Jackson's estate, dismissed the Cascios' claims in a statement to the outlet: "The Cascios are the epitome of unreliable sources. Their stories have repeatedly shifted and changed to suit whatever their current agenda happens to be."

USA TODAY has reached out to the Jackson estate for comment.

The Cascios' remarks come as"Michael,"a biopic on the pop superstar's illustrious career, hits theaters. The film notablydoes not address Jackson's legal troublesor accusations of sexual abuse.

Cascio siblings recall Michael Jackson's alleged abuse

In their interview with The New York Times, the Cascio siblings detailed Jackson's alleged sexual abuse.

Porte, now 37, told the outlet she was 12 years old when the singer abused her inside their family home, where he allegedly stayed for months following the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001. She told the Times that Jackson would sometimes masturbate while looking at her naked.

Dominic Cascio, 39, said his alleged sexual relationship with the "King of Pop" began during a trip to Euro Disney (now Disneyland Paris) when he was about 8 years old and said they would lie nude in bed together. Later encounters included Jackson masturbating, Dominic said.

Edward Cascio said his alleged sexual encounters with the singer extended into adulthood. "I felt like he took my manhood away," Edward, now 43, said.

When contacted by USA TODAY, their attorney reiterated the statements.

The February lawsuit, obtained by USA TODAY, describes Jackson as a "serial child predator who, over the course of more than a decade, drugged, raped, and sexually assaulted" the Cascios.

The lawsuit also says they met with the Jackson estate about their claims in 2019 and were then offered "five annual payments of approximately $690,000" in exchange for signing an "acquisition and consulting agreement." The negotiations allegedly took place after the release of the bombshell HBO documentary"Leaving Neverland."

The siblings' other brother Frank Cascio, who wrote the 2011 memoir"My Friend Michael,"told The New York Times that he was also sexually abused, but because of his involvement in an arbitration proceeding over the original agreement, he's not allowed to join his siblings' federal lawsuit.

Jackson estate attorney Marty Singer, who previously called the lawsuit a "desperate money grab," said all of the Cascio siblings were involved in the arbitration case. He claimed their recent complaint is an attempt to avoid settling their disputes under the previous agreement.

Per The New York Times, the Jackson estate plans to request for the lawsuit to be dismissed or placed on hold while arbitration continues.
